Feasibility analysis and project consulting: technical feasibility and framework conditions for your project

Max Baermann works with you to assess whether and how your requirements can be implemented technically in the best way. Key parameters are evaluated, for example:

  • Function: what technical task is the magnet, the compound or the plastic part intended to perform?
  • Application: which forces, temperatures, media and so on are relevant?
  • Installation space: which geometric limits need to be taken to account?
  • Manufacturing: which processes are realistic for prototypes, tooling and series production?
  • Target scenario: which solution is technically the best, commercially viable and capable of further development?

This early project clarification creates a solid basis for further development. It helps avoid unrealistic targets, faulty development and unnecessary investment in later project phases.

Material development and compounding: selecting and developing suitable material systems

In material and compound development we define the material basis for your future product. Depending on the application and the desired product, we

  • select and test (magnetic) raw materials,
  • combine polymers with functional fillers or
  • develop technical polymer formulations for components and functional parts.

For permanent magnets, material classes such as strontium ferrite, neodymium iron boron, samarium iron nitride and samarium cobalt are used. For engineered compounds, highly filled, moldable pellets are produced on the basis of suitable polymer binders. Plastic components are designed with respect to mechanical, thermal and chemical requirements.

Magnet development and magnetic design: defining and simulating magnetic properties

In magnet development, the magnetic function of your component is specifically designed. This includes shape, dimensioning, material selection and magnetization pattern (axial, radial or multipole).

FEM simulations make it possible to calculate field strengths, forces and stray fields before manufacturing begins. They not only shorten development times but also help to develop reliable products quickly, because the simulation results are then compared directly with measurements on real samples in order to evaluate variants, reduce risks and optimize the magnetic properties.

Prototype manufacturing

As part of rapid prototyping, we turn the first development results into tangible samples. We produce prototypes of magnets, compounds and plastic components in order to test form, function and magnetic properties under real-world conditions.

This step provides assurance before the transition to series production, because the prototypes demonstrate the functionality of the current product designs and reveal potential for optimization that our development teams can use to fine-tune the product properties.

Measuring system development: developing customer-specific test and measurement methods

In engineering, Max Baermann develops suitable measurement and testing systems for your application. These include customer-specific test set-ups and evaluation methods for the reproducible testing of relevant product properties.

For magnetic functional components in particular, suitable measuring methods are taken into account as early as the development process in order to reliably capture magnetic performance, component function and process quality. This increases process reliability and reduces scrap and customer complaints in series production.
